Visit the Gilcrease Museum of History and Art in Tulsa
Being the second largest city in Oklahoma, Tulsa has a lot of things for visitors to see and do. One of the best museums in the area, especially if you are a history buff, is the Gilcrease Museum. People around the world recognize Gilcrease as one of the best museums to learn about American history and to see American art. You can find many wonderful artifacts and pieces of art from the American West, but you will also be able to find other types of artwork as well. The museum does not exclusively showcase Western artists. Everyone who comes to the museum will have a great time exploring all they have in their Fine Art, Anthropology, and Archive collections. The Anthropology collection has more than 250,000 items the range from the prehistoric period onward. People will also enjoy the collection of maps, books, letters, and more in the Archives collection. Some of the pieces in the collection date all the way back to 1494. You can also visit the beautiful gardens around the museum. They make a nice place to relax once you have seen all of the interesting exhibits inside the Gilcrease Museum.
