Roman Fun
Rome is a very hot place during the summer time, so don’t drink out of the public fountains; take your time, find a nice bar, and chill out with a nicely chilled drink. It it’s an even better idea to go to a nice cocktail bar. If this sounds interesting, then you’re in for a treat as Rome has an abundance of them.
One of them is called Salotto 42 (http://www.salotto42.it/) and is situated in Piazza di Pietra 42. During the day you can come here for brunch or just to enjoy a coffee but in the evening you can chose between lots of cocktails. You can also order some Swedish snacks and have a peek through all of the old books they have in the bar area. This bar is really comfortable and you should definitely take advantage of the long couches they have.
The Cuccagna in via delle cuccagna 18 is a good hangout amongst students. Every Tuesday there’s an Erasmus night when students from all over the world come to meet. There is also a small dance floor but above all Cuggagna is famous for its cocktails; very cheap but also very good. This bar might be the perfect end to a busy day of sightseeing.
A bit hidden in Via del Politeama 4, where you would hardly expect to find a cocktail bar, you’ll find Freni e Frizioni. This is the perfect place if you want to get away from the tourists. The price for cocktails is quite good (approximately 7-8 Euros), however 5 euros for a beer might be a bit expensive. Anyway, it’s worth going there to have a look at the bar man do his thing.
The Ombre Rosse in Piazza Sant´Egidio 12 is another famous place for people of every age. Here you can enjoy a coffee, have a snack and have a good cocktail in between. But you can also stay at Ombre Rosse to have dinner.
Most places to go out in Rome are placed on the shore of Tiber, which has a great atmosphere.
Of course there is also a lot of Hotels Rom with a cocktail bars but they might be more expensive than in other bars. Furthermore, many bars offer a Happy Hour where drinks are even cheaper, but you should ask for it as they don’t advertise.
If you want to experience the nightlife in Rome you should book your accommodation (Unterkunft in Rom) in advance. Since the city is very famous, most Hotels in Rom are booked out quickly. An apartment (Ferienwohnung Rom) offers a great alternative to hotels.
