Best Fitness Workouts For Post Holiday Fat Burning
Successful fat burning starts with a “two pronged” approach of healthy diet and fitness workouts. Most dietitians will tell you that you can get more energy and the best body and if you eat whole, natural foods as opposed to fast or processed foods. Our friend Madeline Lyne is a Registered Dietitian and she instructs people to eliminate muffins, donuts, pre-packaged cereals, white bread, chips, crackers, cookies, etc. from their regular diet. Madeline’s a great source for Fat Loss Nutrition Guidelines and supplies our readers with dietary help and nutrition information.
In order to lose inches and burn fat, you can’t simply rid your addiction to processed foods, you’ll also need to incorporate regular exercise into your lifestyle. Even if you can’t get to the gym, there are many excellent exercises you can complete at home. Our favorite belly fat exercises include bodyweight exercises to warm-up, strength training sets to build muscle, and then completing your workout with interval training to burn fat. A fantastic and thorough system is outlined at fitness exercise programs
Besides effective fitness workouts you need to ensure you include fruits, vegetables, nuts, lean proteins, and healthy fats into your diet. After the holidays, many people will have to break some recently acquired “bad habits.” The good news is that once you eliminate processed foods from your diet, you’ll be amazed that you begin to appreciate the taste of REAL food again. Madeline tells us to eat minimal amounts of lean beef and pork, but it’s better to add poultry (without the skin) and fish to help lose fat and build muscle. In fact, fish is a must because it contains essential fatty acids (Omega-3) we need for a healthy heart. Simply eat foods that haven’t been processed, and you’ll start to see changes in your body and energy levels in a matter of days.
After seeing the results myself, I believe diet is the MOST important factor in fat loss and in health. If you’re eating too many processed foods, trans-fats with too many calories, you simply can’t get the benefits you’re seeking from your exercise program. For most overweight people, it’s their diet that’s lead them to their current condition. Although it’s not so simple to make a radical change to your lifestyle, following are few rules to live by:
1) Minimize liquid calories (with the exception of a post-workout drink). I call these empty calories. Madeline always says that it’s best to eat your calories, not to drink them. The best way to do this is to rid yourself of all the juices, sodas, and sports drinks. Liquid sugar is the last thing you need when you are trying to lose fat. Also limit your alcohol intake
2) Don’t eat fast food. Fast food restaurants give you cheap, quick, and easy to prepare foods.
3) Eat more fruits and vegetables. If you are eating 2 servings per day, then go up to 4 servings per day by the end of the week. And even if you think you are doing great by having 5 servings per day, you still need to double that (take 2-3 weeks to work your way up to 10 servings per day).
We know people that switched to whole, natural foods and within days they see changes in their bodies and in particular report improvements in their mental energy. Stick with the simple nutrition & exercise approach for best fat burning.
It takes time and effort to eat properly. You will have to plan, shop, and prepare healthy meals. You will have to spend time cleaning, cutting, and cooking your food. This is the honest truth. My recommendation is to make one small improvement to your diet and nutrition everyday.
Also, don’t procrastinate until January 1st. get started now. Many people have already started their weight loss programs - through the heart of the holiday season. They aren’t waiting for Jan. 1st to show up. They are taking control now and getting on a roll. They’re not letting anything (from Holiday parties to peer pressure) to get in their way.
The best way to burn belly fat is with a combination of fitness workouts and a healthy diet. The weight loss workouts are fast and they work. Diet is critical to provide energy and maintain a healthy and slimmer body.
